Tabatha Patterson > Quantrill's Grave - Final resting place of the infamous William C. Quantrill, instigator of the Lawrence Massacre.  ...well, most of him anyway.
Tabatha Patterson > The Higginsville Water Tower - Located off of County Road AA just East of town.
Tabatha Patterson > The Way - This sign arches over the entrance to the old chapel next to the cemetery at the Confederate State Park located just north of Higginsville, MO.
Tabatha Patterson > Confederate Chapel - Located next to to the cemetery in the Confederate State Park, this chapel has been wonderfully restored and is an attraction for many Civil War buffs.
Tabatha Patterson > High Price - This shot of some of the gravestones at the Confederate State Park highlight just how costly the war was, especially here in central Missouri.
Tabatha Patterson > Center of Commerce - Higginsville, MO has been a farming community since its founding by Harvey Higgins back in 1869, and at one time was considered the "Seed Corn Capitol of the World".  The MFA grain elevator located on the rail line now owned by Union Pacific is still used to ship much of the grain grown in the area.

Tabatha Patterson > Next Stop Higginsville - The old rail station on Main St. was restored and converted into a museum.
Tabatha Patterson > Higginsville Depot - The train depot long served as a source of travel and news with passengers and postal service using the rail line daily.  While no longer an operating rail station, the depot has been restored and is now a museum.
Tabatha Patterson > Welcome to Higginsville - Signs like this one point the way for travelers making their way through central Lafayette County. This sign is north of town on Hwy 13. There are two others on I-70 and one on Hwy 20.
Tabatha Patterson > The Higginsville Husker - Now that's a mascot you can be proud of!  No meek little birds here, just a tough mean looking guy with a spiked club!
